2017 Colorado Chemical Safety Workshops for Regulated Industry
Mesa County Chemical Safety Workshop-May 18Regulated Industry was invited to attend these workshops in five counties: Adams, Denver, El Paso, Larimer and Mesa. Each workshop included a high level overview of the reported hazardous material presence in the county, both from fixed facilities and transportation (roads, pipelines and railroads).

City and County of Denver Chemical Safety Workshop-June 1Following the chemical threat brief, a panel of local first responders and affected agencies discussed their response capabilities and how their county would respond to a release or spill of hazardous materials. Representatives include law enforcement, fire, hazmat, dispatch and others depending on the county.

El Paso County Chemical Safety Workshop-June 13Finally, the Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPC's) introduced themselves to the attendees and requested regulated industry's help in the county's emergency planning process. Each county explained their LEPC's organization and how to get involved, what kind of information they need from industry and how to report spills or releases in the county.

2017 Active Threat Workshops
CEPP provided two workshops on Workplace Violence on April 12th and May 15th. Dr. John Nicoletti, Ph.D, ABPP provided this training to over 300 attendees. Thank you to Charles Schwab and Colorado Springs Utilities for hosting these events.

On Oct 31st, Dr. Earl Motzer, Chair for the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council, and Scott Cormier, VP of Emergency Management for Medxcel spoke to over 150 Colorado Healthcare Facilities on Active Threat Strategies.
